Stillness

As the crystal moon slowly rises
above the mountains and dales
the clouds slowly cover this sleepy vale
The wind whispers softly as it rustles along

The earth glow fades, silence abounds,
listening to the night's most wondrous song.
Dark secrets echo between the mountain walls,
thousands of dreams is its cradle song

A storm splits open the evening sky,
Torrents of tears drown out the cries.
Silent screams that fall on deaf ears,
The night closes in to heighten our fears

The weary moon lowers and hides its face,
the tired retreat to their inner place.
Dawn lights the world and the cycle goes on,
All is forgiven but at what cost ?

In the moonlight a sign I do see
Hearts joined in praise
the world is at peace
The Lord has heard our silent pleas
and helped us make it
gently through the night.

His soothing voice our cradle song:
